1. Make sure the tunnel.php script has been successfully uploaded to the web server. Otherwise, refer to Upload a tunneling script.
2. In the Database menu, select New Connection to open the Database Connection Properties dialog.
3. Go to the HTTP tab and select the Use HTTP tunnel checkbox.
4. Enter the URL of the tunnel.php script uploaded to the web server. If your web server is located on a port different from the default one (80), you should enter the URL as follows: http://_web_server_name:port/script_location.
Note
If the Keep connection alive checkbox is selected, Data Compare will ping the MySQL server to validate the status of the open connection. In case the connection is closed, Data Compare will notify you and prompt to reconnect.
5. If the tunneling script is located on a password-protected server, select the Use Credentials checkbox and enter the login information (User and Password).
Note
Select the Save password checkbox if you do not want to be prompted to re-enter the password next time you open this connection.

6. Go the General tab and enter your login information to connect to your MySQL server:
7. Specify the default Database from the drop-down list. To see all databases, select the Show all databases checkbox.
8. Optional: To test your connection, click Test Connection.
9. Click Connect to establish the connection.
