Use data export templates

This topic describes how to configure export settings and save them as a reusable template to automate recurring tasks, such as daily exports.

Create a template

1. Open the Data Export wizard in one of these ways:

  • On the Start Page, select Data Pump > Export Data.

  • In Database Explorer, right-click the required database or server connection and select Tasks > Export Data.

  • In Database Explorer, right-click the required table or view and select Export Data.

  • On the menu bar, select Database > Tasks > Export Data.

  • In Data Editor, click Data Export icon or right-click in the grid and select Export Data. You can export either the selected rows or the entire table.

2. On the Export format page, select the export file format.

3. Configure the export template settings for the selected data format.

  • HTML
  • Text
  • MS Excel
  • MS Excel 2007+
  • Google Sheets
  • MS Access
  • RTF
  • PDF
  • JSON
  • XML
  • CSV
  • ODBC
  • DBF
  • SQL

4. Select Save > Save Template.

5. Enter the template file name and select the folder to save it.

6. Click Save.

Load a template

1. Open the Data Export wizard in one of these ways:

  • On the Start Page, select Data Pump > Export Data.

  • In Database Explorer, right-click the required table or view and select Export Data.

  • On the menu bar, select Database > Tasks > Export Data.

  • In Data Editor, click Data Export icon or right-click in the grid and select Export Data. You can export either the selected rows or the entire table.

2. On the Export format page, double-click Load Template and select the template file for the data export, then click Next.

3. Optional: Configure additional settings for the selected data format.

4. Click Export.
