Including dependent objects

When synchronizing databases, it is important for developers and DBAs to determine dependencies of database objects. The Schema Compare tool allows viewing the dependencies and including dependent objects into synchronization in case they have not been included at the beginning.

After you have selected objects for synchronization and clicked Synchronization arrow Synchronize objects to the target database, the Schema Synchronization Wizard opens with the following tabs: Output, Additional Scripts, and Summary.

However, in case the objects you have chosen for synchronization reference or are referenced by database objects which have not been selected, the Dependencies tab appears in the wizard. The tab lists objects that will be affected by the synchronization and provides details about their dependencies.

By default, all the affected objects are selected for synchronization. To exclude the dependent object from synchronization, clear the check box next to the corresponding objects.
