Events Logging

Event logs are special files that record significant events on your computer, such as when a user logs on to the computer or when a program encounters an error. Events occurring within Review Assistant are also recorded to logs. You might find the details in event logs helpful when troubleshooting problems with Review Assistant.

How To View Events that are Logging

Event Viewer tracks information in several different logs. Whenever Review Assistant events occur, Windows records the event in an event log that you can read by using Event Viewer.

To open Event Viewer:

  1. Click the Start button.

  2. In the search box, type Event Viewer, and then, in the list of results, click Event Viewer.

  1. Open the Application and Services Logs folder (Note, it may take some time).

  2. Click Devart Review Assistant.

Events are classified as error, warning, or information depending on the severity of the event.

Information events contain the information about Review Assistant service state either installed, stopped or started. It also contains email statuses information.

Errors and Warnings events contain information about failures occurring while the application is running.

Resolving Review Assistant Errors

In case you have encountered some Review Assistant errors, you can export the events log information into a file. Then, you can sent this file to the Devart support team. To do this:

  1. Open the Application and Services Logs folder (Note, it might take some time).

  2. Right-click Devart Review Assistant log.

  3. Select Save All Events As from the shortcut menu.

  4. Enter a file name and the path where the file will be saved.
