In SQL Complete, you can share custom formatting profiles with other SQL Complete users by storing them in a shared network folder or share them through Dropbox. Also, you can export profile settings so that other users can open them in SQL Complete.
The guide provides the following how-to topics:
To upload and share a profile through Dropbox, you will need to have a Dropbox account and the Dropbox desktop application installed on your computer.
1. Go to the Dropbox website and click Download Dropbox App to download a Dropbox application.
2. Navigate to the folder where the installer has been downloaded and run it.
3. In the Set Up Dropbox dialog that opens, enter the e-mail and password to sign in to your Dropbox account and then click Sign in.
Note
If you do not have an account yet, click create an account and follow the steps.
4. In the Welcome to Dropbox window that opens, choose how to synchronize your files and then click Continue.
5. Click Advanced Settings and choose a location for your Dropbox folder. Then, click Done.
Next, you can share your formatting profile with other SQL Complete users by saving it in a shared folder such as a network shared or a Dropbox folder.
1. Locate the profile you want to upload.
By default, formatting profiles are stored as an .xml file in the following directory: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Devart\dbForge SQL Complete\FormatProfiles. If you set a different path to the folder with the profile, do the following:
2. On the SQL Complete menu, click Options. In the dbForge SQL Complete: Options dialog that opens, click Formatting > Profiles.
3. Right-click the profile you want to locate and click Show in Folder.
4. In the window that opens, copy the profile and paste it into a shared network or a Dropbox folder.
After the file with profile settings has been uploaded to the shared folder, other SQL Complete users can open the file and use it in the SQL Complete tool.
1. On the SQL Complete menu, click Options. In the dbForge SQL Complete: Options dialog that opens, click Formatting > Profiles.
2. Click Create New.
3. In the New Profile dialog that opens, do the following:
4. In the Select File Path window that opens, choose the file you want to share - either from a shared network or a Dropbox folder. Then, click Save.
5. Click OK.
The file will be displayed in the Your Profiles section. To save the changes, click OK.
As mentioned, you can export profile settings so that other users can import them in SQL Complete.
