Activation

Unless activated, dbForge Query Builder for SQL Server works on a trial basis for 30 days. When this time period expires, dbForge Query Builder for SQL Server must be activated with the purchased activation key.

dbForge Query Builder for SQL Server can be activated either online or offline.

Online activation

This activation method requires an active Internet connection.

To activate dbForge Query Builder for SQL Server

1. On the Help menu, click Activate Product.

Alternatively, in the Expiration window, click Activate.

2. You should input the long activation key from your email that was sent to you after the purchase, but not the license number in the format: XXXX-XXX-XXX.

If you can not find the e-mail with the activation key, check your Junk/ Spam/ Bulk folders. In addition, your activation key is available at your Customer Portal.

3. To complete the product activation, click Activate.

Offline activation

Offline activation allows activating dbForge Query Builder for SQL Server at the Devart website. This activation method works when the online activation fails.

To activate dbForge Query Builder for SQL Server offline

1. In the Product Activation window, click Manual Activation.

2. Click Copy to Clipboard to copy the activation request text or click Save to File to save the text to a text file.

3. Open the Manual Product Activation page of the Devart website, paste the copied text in the text box, and click Download license. The license file with the .lic extension is downloaded to your computer.

4. Return to the Activation window of dbForge Query Builder for SQL Server and click Load license.

5. Specify the location of the downloaded .lic file and click Open.
