Prior to running Setup to install the dotConnect Universal, you must already have the .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, or 4.6 installed on the computer. If the .NET Framework is not installed, the Setup program for the provider will fail.

For functioning dotConnect Universal requires another data provider. You can install it later or before the installation of dotConnect Universal.

Professional edition of dotConnect Universal is shipped with built-in data providers for Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL servers. Thus with Professinal edition you can access virtually any database through bundled or standard data providers.
