    DbType Property
    In This Topic
    Gets or sets the System.Data.DbType of the parameter.
    Syntax
    'Declaration
     
    Public Overrides Property DbType As DbType
    public override DbType DbType {get; set;}

    Property Value

    One of the System.Data.DbType values. The default value is System.String.
    Remarks
    The MySqlType and DbType are linked. Therefore, setting the changes the MySqlType to a supporting MySqlType.

    For a list of the supported data types, see the appropriate MySqlType member.

    Example
    The following example creates a MySqlParameter and sets some of its properties, including the DbType property.
    public void CreateMySqlParameter()
    {
      MySqlParameter myParameter = new MySqlParameter();
      myParameter.ParameterName = "DName";
      myParameter.DbType = DbType.String;
      myParameter.Direction = ParameterDirection.Output;
      myParameter.Size = 15;
    }
    Public Sub CreateMySqlParameter()
      Dim myParameter As New MySqlParameter()
      myParameter.ParameterName = "DName"
      myParameter.DbType = DbType.String
      myParameter.Direction = ParameterDirection.Output
      myParameter.Size = 15

    Target Platforms: Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1 or later, Windows XP SP3, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core supported with SP1 or later), Windows Server 2003 SP2
