Activation troubleshooting

You have exceeded the maximum number of application copies that can be installed with one license

This error message is displayed when a serial number is activated on more computers than the license allows.

When you purchase a product from Devart, you get a serial number for it. The serial numbers enable you to activate the software multiple times, depending on how many licenses you purchased and the terms of the license agreement.

You will see the above error message when this limit is reached.

To fix the problem, you can:

  • Deactivate the product on another computer to free up a license
  • Purchase more licenses
  • Contact Devart support

Your license does not allow you to use this product

This error message is displayed when either the serial number you entered is for a different edition of the product you are trying to activate or your license has expired.

To fix the problem, you can:

  • If the serial number is for an older edition of the product, and you don’t have that version installed on your computer, you can download it from the Devart website

  • If you face problems upgrading your product, contact Devart Support

  • In case your license has expired, you can purchase another one

  • If you think we have disabled your license by mistake, contact Devart Support

Your license number is incorrect

This message is displayed when either the serial number you entered is not registered with the activation server or there is a problem with the format of the activation request.

To fix the problem, you can:

  • Check that you copied and pasted all of the activation request

  • Try using manual activation via the Devart website

  • In case the solutions above don’t help, contact Devart Support

Cannot connect to activation service

This error message is displayed if there is no connection with the activation service

To fix the problem, you can:

  • Check your internet connection

  • Try using manual activation via the Devart website

  • In case the solutions above don’t help, contact Devart Support
