How to compare data of two tables in the same database
Last modified: August 8, 2024
When building, testing, or maintaining a database, you may need to compare data in two similar tables of the same database. To do this:
1. Select the same server and database as the source and target.
2. On the Mapping page of the New Data Comparison Wizard, map together the tables you want to compare. For more information about how to map tables, see Select tables and views.
Note
- If the columns of the tables have different names, you may need to map the individual columns together as well.
- Make sure that the data of the columns you map together are of a similar type.
