A OracleCommand that contains SQL SELECT statement, and is set as the SelectCommand property of the OracleDataAdapter.
Example

OracleDataAdapter Constructor(OracleCommand)
Initializes a new instance of the OracleDataAdapter class with the specified OracleCommand as the %% property.
Syntax
'Declaration

Public Function New( _
   ByVal selectCommand As OracleCommand _
)

Parameters

selectCommand
A OracleCommand that contains SQL SELECT statement, and is set as the SelectCommand property of the OracleDataAdapter.
Remarks
This implementation of the OracleDataAdapter constructor sets the SelectCommand property to the value specified in the selectCommand parameter.

When you create an instance of OracleDataAdapter, the following read/write properties are set to their default values, as shown in the table.

Properties Default Value
MissingMappingAction MissingMappingAction.Passthrough
MissingSchemaAction MissingSchemaAction.Add

You can change the value of any of these properties through a separate call to the property.

Example
The following example creates a OracleDataAdapter, sets some of its properties, retrieves data from a table, and displays it.
public void CreateDataAdapter(OracleConnection myConnection)
{
  OracleCommand myCommand = new OracleCommand("SELECT DeptNo, DName FROM Test.Dept", myConnection);
  OracleDataAdapter myAdapter = new OracleDataAdapter(myCommand);
  myAdapter.MissingSchemaAction = MissingSchemaAction.AddWithKey;
  DataSet myDataSet = new DataSet();
  myAdapter.Fill(myDataSet,"Dept");
  //Get all data from all tables within the dataset
  foreach(DataTable myTable in myDataSet.Tables)
  {
    foreach(DataRow myRow in myTable.Rows)
    {
      foreach (DataColumn myColumn in myTable.Columns)
      {
        Console.Write(myRow[myColumn]+"\t");
      }
      Console.WriteLine();
    }
    Console.WriteLine();
  }
}
Public Sub CreateDataAdapter(ByVal myConnection As OracleConnection)
  Dim myCommand As OracleCommand = New OracleCommand("SELECT DeptNo, DName FROM Test.Dept", myConnection)
  Dim myAdapter As OracleDataAdapter = New OracleDataAdapter(myCommand)
  myAdapter.MissingSchemaAction = MissingSchemaAction.AddWithKey
  Dim myDataSet As DataSet = New DataSet
  myAdapter.Fill(myDataSet, "Dept")
  Dim myTable As DataTable
  Dim myRow As DataRow
  Dim myColumn As DataColumn
  ' Get all data from all tables within the dataset
  For Each myTable In myDataSet.Tables
    For Each myRow In myTable.Rows
      For Each myColumn In myTable.Columns
        Console.Write(myRow(myColumn) & Chr(9))
      Next myColumn
      Console.WriteLine()
    Next myRow
    Console.WriteLine()
  Next myTable
End Sub
