International Article Number
An International Article Number (originally European Article Number - EAN-13) is a 13 digit barcoding standard used worldwide for marking products.
The EAN number consists of four groups of digits:
- the first group contains three digits usually identify the national GS1 member organization, to which a manufacturer is registered;
- the second group consists of three to eight digits identifying a company number;
- the third group consists of two to six digits identifying an item reference;
- the forth group is a single checksum digit.
The International Article Number Generator generates 13-digit numbers separated by hyphens.
The dialog box of the CA Social Insurance Number Generator contains some of the Basic Settings. You can customize the generator by changing the basic settings.
