Bibliographic Code (CODEN) generator

The Bibliographic Code (CODEN) generator produces unique six-character alphanumeric codes to identify specific scientific, technical, and medical journals or publications. CODEN codes are widely used in databases and libraries to reference periodicals and other publications, providing a standardized shorthand for citing or searching for specific journals.

Matching rules
The generator can be assigned to a column whose name is ‘CODEN’, regardless of the table name.
Configure additional options
The tool allows you to specify a separator between groups of digits. By default, a hyphen is used to separate the digits.
