The US North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) generator creates 6-digit codes that classify businesses and industries based on their economic activities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. These codes are used for statistical analysis, government reporting, and industry classification.

Matching rules

The generator can be assigned to a column that matches any of the following rules:

  • The column name is ‘NAICS’, regardless of the table name.
  • The column name starts with ‘industry’ or ‘SIC’ and ends with ‘code’, with any or no characters in between, regardless of the table name.
