The International Securities Identification Number (ISIN, ISO 6166) generator produces unique identifiers for financial securities, such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other tradable instruments. The ISIN format is standardized under ISO 6166 and is used globally to uniquely identify securities for trading and settlement purposes.

The table provides key details about the generator, including the short name, sample of the generated data, the supported data types, and whether it is specific to a particular country.

Matching rules

The generator can be assigned to a column whose name is ‘ISIN’, regardless of the table name.

Configure additional options

The tool allows you to set additional options:

  • Specify a separator between groups of digits. By default, a hyphen or a space is used to separate the digits.
  • Clear the checkboxes next to the countries where ISIN should be excluded from the generated data. By default, all countries are selected. They are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and United States.
