Company generator

The Company generator creates realistic but fictitious company names. It can be used to identify and track companies in the government procurement and contracting system.

Generator properties

The table provides key details about the data generator, including the short name, sample of the generated data, the supported data types, and whether it is specific to a particular country.

Matching rules

The generator can be assigned to a column that matches any of the following rules:

  • The column name starts with ‘compan’ or ‘organizat’ and ends with ‘name’, with any or no characters in between, regardless of the table name.
  • The column name starts with ‘organizat’, followed by any or no characters, regardless of the table name.
  • The column name starts with ‘work’ and ends with ‘for’, with any or no characters in between, regardless of the table name.
  • The column name is ‘name’, and it belongs to a table whose name is ‘vendor’.
  • The column name is ‘company’, regardless of the table name.
  • The column name is ‘name’, and it belongs to a table whose name contains ‘manufactur’, preceded or followed by any or no characters.
