The guide shows how to:

Update SQL Complete using the Check for Updates option

The Check for Updates option checks whether a more recent version of the product is available for downloading. When using this option, ensure that your Web browser connection settings are configured correctly.

To check SQL Complete for updates, navigate to the SQL Complete main menu and select Help > Check for Updates.

If a new version is available, the following Update window will be displayed.

To get information about the new version of the product, click What’s New?

To update to a proposed version, click Update.

Update SQL Complete from the website

To install the latest version of the tool from the Devart website:

1. Download the new version from the website.

2. Run the installer and follow the instructions.

Upgrade SQL Complete for use with a newer SSMS version

You can upgrade SQL Complete to be compatible with a newer version of SSMS.

Note

When upgrading to a newer version, all the settings will be preserved.

1. Download the tool to the computer where SSMS is installed.

2. Run the sqlcompletesql.exe file to start the installation process.

3. On the welcome page of the installer that opens, click Install.

4. On the Maintenance page, the Upgrade maintenance operation is selected by default. Click Next to proceed.

5. On the Select Destination page, specify the installation folder for dbForge SQL Complete and click Next.

6. On the Add-In page, select the checkbox next to the product with which dbForge SQL Complete will be installed as an add-in and click Next.

Note

The checkboxes displayed on this page depend on how many SSMS and Visual Studio versions are installed on the computer where SQL Complete is upgraded.

7. Complete the installation by following the steps in the installer.

8. Click Finish to close the installer.
