Committing Changes

To update the repository with your local changes:

  1. In Object Explorer, right-click a linked database or a specific database object.
  2. Point to Source Control, and then click Commit on the shortcut menu.

  3. In the Local changes section of the document, select objects and/or static data you want to commit.

  4. In the text box, write a comment describing what for your commit does or what it is for. Your comment will help other developers to understand the purpose of your commit.

    The Comment text box is not available when a database is linked to a working folder.

  5. Click the Commit button. The Commit dialog box showing all the stages of the commit operation opens. When all stages are complete, click OK to close the dialog box to complete the operation.
