    CommandTimeout Property (DbCommandBase)
    In This Topic
    Gets or sets the wait time before terminating an attempt to execute a command and generating an error. Note that it is the time to wait for any server reply since the command was sent to a server, and it doesn't include the time necessary to fetch data if the command selects some data.
    Syntax
    'Declaration

    Public Overrides Property CommandTimeout As Integer
    public override int CommandTimeout {get; set;}

    Property Value

    The time (in seconds) to wait for the command to execute. The default value is 30 seconds.
    Remarks

    A value of zero (0) specifies no limit to the wait time, rather than no wait time, and therefore should be avoided.

    The value of the CommandTimeout property is used in Direct mode. The OCI mode doesn't take into account the cmd.CommandTimeout, and the duration of command timeout is determined by Oracle client settings.

    Available in Direct mode only. Not available under .NET Compact Framework.

    Requirements

    Target Platforms: Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1 or later, Windows XP SP3, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core supported with SP1 or later), Windows Server 2003 SP2
