Synchronizing Two Databases

dbForge Data Compare for SQL Server allows you to compare data of databases and synchronize it.

Database Connection Setup

  1. Click New Data Comparison on the Start Page. The New Data Comparison wizard opens.
  2. Select the Source and Target connections. You can edit a selected connection or create a new one. To do this, just click the Edit button, or the New button correspondingly. To quickly compare data, you can click the Compare button immediately after setting databases and skip the optional steps.
  3. If you want to change default comparison settings, go to the Options and Mapping tabs of the New Data Comparison wizard.

Synchronization Script Generation

  1. Select the data to synchronize in the grid with comparison results. (To do this, select the check boxes next to tables (or views) in the top grid. You may also select the check boxes next to individual records on the Only in Source, Only in Target, and Different Records tabs of the bottom grid).
  2. Click the Synchronize button on the Comparison toolbar to open the Data Synchronization wizard.
  3. Select where to output the synchronization script in the wizard and then click the Synchronize button.
